Marine Triolet was born in Lyons (France), in 1972. She began by studying violin, only later turning to the double bass. In 1991, she entered Lyons Conservatoire, where her teacher was Jean Paul Celea, and won the 1st Prize with the mention of Very Good, in 1995. In 1995/96 she specialised in contemporary music and in 1996/97 she studied for a year with Tomas Martin in London. Between 1992 and 1997, she was a member of the Youth Orchestra of the European Union.
In 1997, she joined the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, as 1st solo bass, and is currently also a teacher there. She has been a member of the Gulbenkian Orchestra since 1998.
